Animating
Latvian Type

As part of my Graphic Design study program over at LABASAD, the Motion Design module’s project was to create three different animations for words, sayings, idioms of your choice, as long as it was in your native language. The only limit was that the animation should be 5 seconds at most.

The project process included storyboarding, finding references for your idea, preparing the visual assets, and of course, creating the animation.

As each of the results had different directions in terms of style and core animation, below you’ll find my storyboards and other inspirations as well as the final results.

Dzintars

Amber is precious stone in the Latvian folklore, also called the saules akmens (the stone of the sun)
